Street Improvement Proposals for the Swords
Road to consolidate the Santry neighbourhood community. The
Swords Road was historically a main route north out of the
city and with the opening of the M1 and the Port Tunnel, has
an opportunity to reinvent itself as a neighbourhood street.
The Street Improvement Proposals are based
around the provision of a central reservation to facilitate
the provision of dedicated bus lanes in both directions, in
line with national and local policy, whilst reducing the impact
of a four-lane carriageway. Infill opportunities are identified
and street sections provide guidance on potential heights
for new frontage development.
Proposals will be delivered incrementally
as funds become available.
