Rialto Area Action Plan

Rialto is an historic area lying within the Grand Canal ring, immediately to the south of its junction with the former St James canal spur, to the south west of the city centre. It is comprised of a number of older settled streets, with a variety of housing types and ages, much of which is included in the Dublin City Development Plan as part of an Architectural Conservation Area. The area also contains the large scale social housing developments of Fatima Mansions and Dolphin House,
The area is densely settled and consultations with the community identified deficits particularly in terms of open space
